Netball is one of the most-played team sports in New Zealand, and a big share of its coaches are volunteers. Every week they face the same puzzle: seven positions, four quarters, a squad of ten or so players, and the job of keeping it fair, developmental and fun.

Who’s available? One or two absences change everything with a squad this size.
Who plays where? GS, GA, WA, C, WD, GD, GK — each position has its own zone and job. Players develop best when they experience several positions, but parents and players often have favourites.
Who sits when? Bench time needs to be shared across quarters and across the season.
What do we train? Footwork, passing, getting free and defending all need attention, and sessions need to stay fun.
