Who we are

Squaddie is a sports team management application operated by Squaddie Limited, based in New Zealand. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Squaddie web app or mobile app (iOS and Android).

If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@squaddie.app.

What information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Team and player data: team names, player names, positions, and event records you enter while using Squaddie.
  • Usage data: how you interact with the app, such as pages visited and features used, to help us improve the product.
  • Device information: when using the mobile app, we may collect your device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic purposes.

We do not collect payment card details directly — payments are processed by our third-party provider (Stripe) and subject to their privacy policy.

How we use your information

  • To provide and operate the Squaddie service.
  • To send you important account and service notifications (not marketing without your consent).
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve app performance.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

How we store your data

Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Supabase, with infrastructure located in Australia. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

When using the Squaddie mobile app, your login session is stored securely on your device using the platform's native secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Secure Preferences).

Children's privacy

Squaddie is intended for use by coaches and school/club administrators. Player profiles may include details about minors (names, positions). This information is entered by the coach or administrator and is only accessible to authorised users within that school or club.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Your rights

Under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@squaddie.app. We will respond within 20 working days.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services which may process your data:

  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Vercel — web application hosting.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Squaddie after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
