How every command works

  1. Ask

Type or say what you need in your own words. Attach a photo of a lineup sheet or scorecard, or a spreadsheet, when it helps.

  2. Review

Answers come back as cards from your real data. Changes come back as a proposal showing exactly what will happen.

  3. Confirm

One tap makes the change, and most changes can be undone. Every action is recorded in the activity log.

Your day

Start here. Squaddie checks everything and tells you what needs you.

“What do I need to do today?”

Prioritised list: missing coaches, venues, availability, results, clashes, unpaid fees.

“Have I missed anything?”

Same check, focused on things that slipped through.

“Prepare me for Saturday”

This weekend's matches with anything still to sort.

“Is anything wrong with my season?”

Season health score with every issue listed and a fix for each. For coordinators and club admins.

“Are there any schedule clashes?”

Teams booked twice, double-booked venues, coaches in two places.

Teams

Create, rename and look after teams by just saying so.

“Create a Year 7 girls football team called Year 7 Girls A — no players yet”

Creates one team. Asks for the sport only if it can’t tell.

“Create three Year 5 netball teams called Red, Blue and Gold”

Creates several teams at once. For coordinators and club admins.

“Create a new netball team with these players and a match this Saturday at 9am at Hutt Rec: …”

Team, players and first match in one go — one tap to create it all.

“Show me our teams”

Every team with sport, player count and coach.

“Tell me everything about Year 7A”

Coaches, roster, next match and recent results.

“Which teams have fewer than 8 players?”

Short squads at a glance.

“Rename Year 7A to Year 7 Gold”

Renames a team.

Players

Add, find and move players without hunting through screens.

“Add Joe Soap to the Magics netball team”

Adds a player — team names can be loose.

“Add these players to Year 6 Hawks”

Paste a list or attach a photo of a team sheet.

“Move Sarah Smith to Year 7B”

Moves a player between teams, with undo.

“Who hasn't been put in a team yet?”

“We have 42 Year 7 football registrations — split them into three balanced teams”

Balanced on rating and positions. Review before anyone moves. For coordinators and club admins.

“Find Jack Taylor”

Which team a player is in.

Matches & results

Fixtures, scores and the lineup you forgot to enter.

“What games are on this weekend?”

Every match in the window with venues and results.

“Create a match for Year 7A vs Riverside next Saturday at 10am at Field 2”

Schedules a match and notifies coaches.

“Move the Year 7A game on Thursday to Friday at 4pm”

Reschedules a match.

“This was the score for the Magics vs Thunder: 18–12”

Records a result — also updates competition standings.

“Here's my lineup from the weekend and the result”

Type it out or attach a photo of the lineup sheet; creates the match if it’s missing.

“Which games have no result yet?”

Results still to enter from the last month.

“Show me the Year 7 standings”

Competition ladder.

“Create the round-robin draw for Term 1 Netball starting 14 Feb at 4pm”

Whole season draw, one round a week. For coordinators and club admins.

Lineups & fair play

Squaddie's speciality: fair game time and position variety.

“Build a fair lineup for our next game”

Available players, balanced season minutes, positions they need.

“Who needs more game time?”

Playing time vs the team average for every player.

“How many times has Jane Doe played GK this season?”

Position history by period and match.

“What position is Jane Sully due to play next?”

Fair-rotation pick with the reason.

“Who's available for Saturday?”

Available, unavailable and who hasn't answered.

“Show me last week’s lineup”

Who played where, by quarter or half.

Stats & reports

Answers from your data, not guesses.

“What are my stats for this netball season?”

Played, W–D–L, for/against, form, player of the day.

“Give me a Term 3 sports report for the principal”

Participation, results by sport, registrations and revenue. For coordinators and club admins.

“Which coaches are coaching more than one team?”

Coach workload and teams without a coach. For coordinators and club admins.

Registrations & payments

Chase sign-ups and fees in seconds.

“How many have registered for Term 4 football?”

“Send a reminder to everyone who hasn’t paid”

“Assign sam@school.nz as coach of Year 8A”

Assigns a coach and invites them if they’re new. For coordinators and club admins.

Notes

Quick notes saved against the right team.

“Add this note to the Magics: work on defensive transitions”

Saves to the team’s notes on web and mobile.

“What were my last notes for Year 7A?”

Recent notes for a team.

Your nicknames for teams and venues.

“Save that as a shortcut called Saturday reminder”

One-tap shortcut for requests you repeat.

“Forget the Field 2 thing”

FAQ

Common questions

Do I have to use these exact words?

No. These are examples. Ask Squaddie understands the same request phrased many different ways, and uses the page you are on to fill in gaps such as which team you mean.

What does "you confirm" mean?

Anything that changes your data or sends a message is shown to you first as a proposal. Nothing happens until you press Confirm, and most changes can be undone afterwards.

Can coaches use every command?

Coaches can use everything for their own teams — lineups, results, players, notes, availability and messages to their team. Season setup, registrations and organisation-wide messages are for coordinators and admins.
